in a moment of girlish weakness

Friends and longtime readers know I'm not a girly girl. I'm a t-shirt and jeans kinda kid. I own a dress or two and at least one skirt I really like, but those are more about staying cool in summer or needing something to wear to a wedding.

And speaking of weddings, my lifelong friend MBJ gets married this weekend, as in 2 days from now. I'm standing up in her wedding, and I've been remiss in my girlish preparations. Only Sunday did it occur to me I needed to buy a strapless bra. But folks, here's the real kicker:

I just got my eyebrows threaded and my lip waxed. For serious. What the eff happened to me?

And why do women routinely do these things?

Granted my face looks great, and the service (not to mention the price!) was awesome. But, can I just say "OWW!"? And, I'd like to know why my left eyebrow was so much more painful than my right.

OK, excuse my while I go paint my nails.*

I've decided that beauty=pain. Plain and simple as that. Had my eyebrows done for the first time a year ago and I have to say that the "plucking" is not manageable and a lot (TON) less painful. I'm sure you look lovety and MBJ will love you in her wedding photos (and in person, of course). Hey, we might have a guest at knitting on Tuesday...
